1. About Kevin Wolma

Kevin Wolma began serving as an Assistant Athletic Director for Student Wellness and Compliance at Hope College in June 2023.

In this new role, Wolma will be advocating for and leading programs which will benefit the comprehensive wellness of Hope College student-athletes, while also supporting coaches and staff in their efforts to have a transformational impact.

“Kevin’s 20-plus years of coaching and leadership experience in high school athletics at Hudsonville Public Schools, the OK Conference and across the state make him an excellent fit to serve in this new role,” Director of Athletics Tim Schoonveld said. “It was evident throughout the interview process how much Kevin loves and values the impact Hope Athletics had on him throughout his career. We are confident his leadership will have that same impact on many others.”

Kevin was named the Regional Athletic Director of the Year, in 2021. The West Michigan Officials Athletic Director of the Year, 2015, and the Ottawa County Substance Abuse Prevention Administrator of the Year, 2015.

Kevin has over 30 seasons of experience in coaching basketball, tennis, and golf.

He is an avid tennis player and his daughter Kayla attends Hope College and is in the Professional Management Tennis (PTM) program.

Kevin authored the book “30 Second Timeout: Navigating Through the Challenges of Youth Sports”.
