1. About the Speakers
Brothers Mark and Scott Ficks make a great presentation on how to prepare your players for the chaos they will experience in tennis matches.
Mark Ficks: (USPTA) Mark comes to us from Saint Joe, Michigan where he has served as the Director of Racquet Sports for the South Shore Health & Racquet Club since 2007.
Mark is the 2021 USPTA Midwest Tennis Professional of the Year and has earned Michigan USPTA Professional of the Year Honors in 2007 & 2011. In addition to his USPTA tennis credentials, Mark has also received certifications in Pickleball & Paddle Tennis, and has been certified as a Personal Fitness Trainer by the American Council on Exercise.
He has coached over 25 seasons of High School Tennis and is currently the Head Coach for the Saint Joe High School Varsity Girls Team.
Scott Ficks: (USPTA) Scott resides in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he is the Tennis Director at the Village Club. Scott has won the Wisconsin USPTA Professional of the Year award 3 times, as well as the Midwest’s “Fay Tooley” Award.
He has coached 5 seasons of high school tennis and 2 years of college. Scott also recently became the Midwest USPTA’s first-ever Head Pickleball Tester. Collegiately, Ficks competed for Vincennes University which is one of the most successful junior college tennis programs in the country with over 30 straight trips to the NJCAA National Tournament.
Ficks graduated from Vincennes University in 1994 and Indiana University in 1997.
