Comparing the Eight Organizations

RSM students should not evaluate these employers only by the number of courts or clubs they operate. Each company offers a different career experience:

Midtown, Life Time, Genesis, the Bay Club, and SPORTIME primarily operate their own athletic or racquet sports facilities.
Cliff Drysdale Tennis and Peter Burwash International primarily manage racquet sports operations for other clubs, resorts, hotels, and communities.
Invited Clubs operate private country, golf, and city clubs in which racquet sports are part of a broader membership and hospitality operation.

The best employer for a particular graduate will depend on that person’s career goals.

Some coaches may prefer to teach at one club and develop long-term relationships with local members. Others may want to travel, work at luxury resorts, coach high-performance players, manage multiple facilities, or eventually move into regional and corporate leadership.

Regardless of the company, successful racquet sports professionals need more than playing and teaching ability.

Large employers look for people who can communicate, sell programs, organize events, manage staff, understand budgets, provide excellent customer service, and create experiences that keep members and players coming back.
