2. Getting Volunteers

Without a doubt, one of the most important things to do with this event is to get a lot of volunteers.

You could use adults or parents, but we prefer to use high school players. This way they can have a sense of what it’s like to work with kids.

One of the best ways for us to recruit High School volunteers is by giving them volunteer hours. Many High School kids need volunteer hours for their National Honor Society requirements.

One strategy is to email the parents and not just the kids when you ask them to volunteer. We have found that this helped us get a lot of players and it’s all free because they are volunteering.

In a perfect world, you will have one volunteer for every two players or even more. This is helpful because it helps some of the less experienced players to be able to rally when they are partnered with a high schooler who can control the ball better.
