7. Court action: Grades 6-7-8 (middle school)

It wasn’t until our second event that we added the Middle School Division.

However, after we tried it we decided to cancel this age division for future events… WHY? because we found that these players were a bit too self-conscious to have fun in the bouncy house and they tried it once, but then felt dumb if they tried it again. Even though we encouraged them to keep going through the bouncy house and had our HS aged volunteers go through it and they were having fun, it did not work.

So.. we learned. No failure, just learned that this type of event was not right for OUR middle school players. You can test this age division at your own club and might find that it works well. 

The tennis portion of the event was fine. In fact, the video below shows these MS players having fun and competing during the tennis portion.
